Event Staff

Welcome, Event Staff!

Here, you will find ALL Event Staff Positions and their descriptions. Positions or Descriptions for Special Events will be listed under the Position and marked to signify the Event. This will be updated and changed as needed.

Event Lead

  • Places Event Staff each night
    • You may work with the Staff Coordinator for scheduling on Haunt Scheduler
    • You will be in charge of updating the board in the Event Hub with positions
  • Assigns Opening and Closing tasks to Event Staff each night
  • Coordinates Sign Ups for Setup and Tear Down Help
    • Communicating with ALL staff (not just event) with enough notice if extra hands are needed
    • Sign Up Sheets
    • Uses Email or Staff Phone Number in order to contact Staff
  • Overseeing all Event Staff
    • Opening Tasks
    • During Operating Hours
    • Closing Tasks
  • Communicating what each position entails and being knowledgable about each position
  • Leading in Operational Setup and Teardown
  • Ensuring all Opening Tasks are completed each night
    • Following up with Staff members if a task is not done and getting them back on track or completing the task yourself
    • Completing the Opening Checklist and submitting it once it’s done
  • Ensuring all Event Staff is doing their job and in their positions during operational hours
  • Ensuring all Closing Tasks are completed each night
    • Following up with Staff members if a task is not done and getting them back on track or completing the task yourself
    • Completing the Closing Checklist and submitting it once it’s done
  • Working with guests during operational hours to handle comments or concerns
    • Being able to handle issues such as ticketing problems
  • Communicating any needs in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that all procedures and protocols are being followed exactly as they are enforced by Nick and Jess

NOTE
Nick, Jess, Marco, and the Event Lead are the ONLY people who should be handling customer questions and issues. Unless you are specifically given detailed instructions on how to handle an issue, you will need to listen to the Guest, let them know you understand, and let them know you’re going to call someone over who can best assist them before calling for one of us.

Floater

  • Make continuous rounds throughout Operational Nights to ensure that all Event Staff members have what they need and are doing okay
  • Cover breaks and fill in momentarily for Event Staff members to take bathroom breaks
  • Assist with Customer Service
  • Checks in with Event Lead throughout the night to see where they’re needed
  • Fills in for Absent Employees

Outdoor Director

  • Communicates prohibited items to guests outside of the Security Checkpoint
  • Calls and Organizes Time Slot Lines
  • Checks guests tickets to ensure they’re there at the correct time on the correct date
  • Assists with Ticketing Issues

Ticket Scanners

  • Checks Guests in by scanning their tickets
  • Sells Upgrades
  • Ensures Guests are entering the correct line
  • Oversees overflow between the Security checkpoint and lines

Materials Needed

  • iPad
  • Ticket Scanner
  • Traffic Wand
  • Walkie-Talkie

Door Ushers

  • Organize Guests in lines
  • Distributes wristbands for Immediate Access and explains their use
  • Works with Indoor Directors to pace guest entry into the building

Materials Needed

  • Traffic Wand
  • Talk Box

Indoor Directors

  • Paces guests inside the Queue Lines based on Marco’s directions
    • Timing is based on Ticket Sales
  • Communicates with Door Ushers
  • Communicates any issues to Event Lead

Materials Needed

First Attraction Entrance

  • Manages Immediate Access entry, Fast Pass Entry, and General Admission Entry
  • Greets Guests
  • Pace Guests into Photo Ops

Nightmare Combat

  • Explains how to use Laser Tag Guns
  • Relays Rules

Blackout

  • Hands out Glow Sticks

Materials Needed

  •  Headset Belt Pack
  • Walkie-Talkie

Photo Ops

  • Ensures Photo Cards are stocked in their room as soon as they arrive
    • Communicate any needs as soon as possible
    • This can also be done before leaving for he evening
  • Greets Guests
  • Takes Photos based on Marco’s directions
    • How many photos get taken based off ticket sales
  • Relays Rules to Guests
  • Sends Guests to Pacing Director, if applicable
    • If there is not a pacing director, Photo Ops will guide guests out and direct them on which way to go

Pacing Director

  • Paces Guests in whichever spot needed
  • Greets Guests and relays basic rules, if applicable

Materials Needed

  • Traffic Wand

Second Attraction Entrance

  • Position 1
    • Greets guests at the exit of the First Attraction
    • Uses walkie to call a Creeper or Floater when guests want to leave
    • Places Immediate Access into their line
    • NOTE: This Event Staff member should NEVER leave their post without informing the other person in the room with them, and they need to leave their walkie with Position 2.

    • Greets Guests
    • Paces Guests into the Second Attraction
    • Relays Rules, if applicable

Materials Needed

Nightmare Combat

  • Greets Guests at Safety Checkpoint
  • Asks Guests to check their Laser Tag Guns and make sure they’re functioning correctly
  • Relay Rules again
  • Calls for replacement Laser Tag Guns if necessary

Store Director

  • Completes the Store Opening Checklist upon arriving
  • Oversees Store Staff prior to opening in order to make sure all Open Tasks are completed
  • Submits the Opening Checklist as soon as it’s done
  • Makes sure all monetary needs are communicated 
    • This needs to be done the night before or immediately upon arrival. 
    • There is nothing we can do once the night begins to get more cash.
  • Preps Registers
  • Assists with all Store Tasks throughout the night
    • Restocking
    • Assisting Customers
    • Tidying Store
    • Changing Printer Paper
    • Being available to handle Store or Store Staff issues and questions
  • Assists with Customer Care and communicates via walkie when additional assistance is needed
  • Making sure Closing Tasks are completed and submitting the Closing Task list each night.

Customer Care

  • Greets Guests as they exit the Second Attraction
  • Troubleshoots Customer issues and complaints.
    • Resolves the issues or contacts the Store Director.

Materials Needed

Cashiers

  • Runs their Registers
  • Sells Photos and Merch
  • Ensures their Registers are good to go upon arrival
    • Cash is stocked
    • Everything is running
  • Restocks items behind the counter throughout the night
  • Keeps the Merch Counter Stocked, Clean, and Tidy
  • Changes Printer Paper throughout the night

Materials Needed

  • Photo Register
  • Checkout Register

Sanitation

  • Wipes down high-touch surfaces in Staff and Customer areas outside of the Attractions
  • Makes sure things are tidy
    • NOTE: This does NOT mean cleaning up after Event or Acting Staff
  • Assists other Event Staff Members are directed by the Event Lead

Materials Needed

  • Cleaning Supplies
    • Disinfecting Spray
    • Microfiber Cloth
    • Gloves
    • Supply Tote

Laser Tag Gun Distributors

  • Works behind the scenes to keep guns prepped and stocked
  • Helps Front Entrance position and distribute guns
  • Keeps an eye out for Second Attraction position to signal for a replacement gun

Materials Needed

  • Laser Tag Guns
  • “Start Game” Command Box

Laser Tag Gun Collectors

  • Greets Guests at the end of the Haunt
  • Ends Game on Laser Tag Guns
  • Collects Laser Tag Guns and records Gun Number and Score
  • Replaces Laser Tag Guns into Cart or Rack for Gun Runners
  • Runs Laser Tag Guns when necessary

Materials Needed

  • “End Game” Command Box

Laser Tag Gun Runners

  • Collects Laser Tag Guns from Collectors
  • Stocks the Laser Tag Gun Cart carefully
  • Runs Cart to Distributors 
  • Helps Unload Laser Tag Guns
  • Anticipates how many Laser Tag Guns to collect before running again by assessing how many are left for Guests
