Performance Lead and Creepers

General Description

The Performance Lead is a highly skilled performer in the attraction who not only excels in their own performance but also trains other performers to enhance the overall show quality. They lead the Performance Cast before each night, taking responsibility for the attractions during operation. See below for more detailed responsibilities.

General Timeline

  • 4:30pm: Preparing for the Night

    • Performance Lead and House Creepers arrive.
    • Get into costume and makeup.
    • Review questions for the night.
    • Takes about 5 minutes for everyone to be on the same page.
  • 5:00pm: Actors Arrive and Preparation

    • Leads and Creepers ready to work.
    • Creepers hand out costumes.
    • Costume room opens at 5pm.
    • Creepers use time for personal placement boards.
    • Start working with actors once ready.
    • Creepers check speaker scare buttons.
    • Report issues to Marco by 6pm.
    • Lead and Creepers out of Haunt Hub by 5pm.
  • 5:15pm-5:30pm: Staff Check-In

    • Lead checks in Creepers.
    • Phone calls for late arrivals.
    • Calls made by 5:45pm.
  • 6:10pm-6:15pm: Nightly Meeting and Pump Up

  • 6:30pm-6:45pm: Scene Preparation

    • Creepers line up under their Zone.
    • Actors head to scenes or are guided by Creepers.
    • Performance Lead stays in Staff Lounge briefly after Creepers leave.
    • Creepers walkie Lead when everyone is placed.
    • Lead walks through attractions.
    • Once Zone 1 is ready, Lead signals to open.
  • 7:00pm: Attractions Open

  • 8:00pm: Breaks

    • Creepers take breaks.
    • Check in after the first break.
    • Ensure equal breaks for each Zone.
  • 10:00pm-12:00am: Closing Procedures

    • Doors close.
    • Marco walkies Performance Lead to the front queue.
    • Lead follows the last group, dismisses actors.
    • Once dismissed, Lead changes and exits makeup.
    • Creepers walk through Zones, clear scenes, and ensure cleanliness.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and Leadership

    • Arrive on time to work with actors.

    • Lead a brief nightly meeting with Creepers.
    • Distribute responsibilities to Creepers.
    • Assign tasks like working with specific actors or covering scenes.
    • Oversee and make scene changes during operational hours.
  • Before Doors Open

    • Work with actors before the night begins.
    • Ensure everyone is in their scenes before doors open.
    • Enforce rules and guidelines as communicated.
    • Give the go-ahead to open.
  • Operational Responsibilities

    • Manage all performers, including House Creepers and Queue.
    • Make constant rounds to ensure safety and compliance.
    • Take phones or electronics from staff.
    • Work with actors in their scenes.
    • Communicate with Creepers.
    • Pay attention to scenic details (props, animatronics, lights, speakers).
    • Assist actors in the Staff Lounge for injury or illness.
  • Staff Support

    • Stay in the Staff Lounge for incident reports, medical attention, or sending actors home.
    • Move actors if someone goes home.
    • Update placement boards.
    • Ensure Creepers provide breaks.
    • Take personal breaks.
  • Closing Procedures

    • Dismiss staff.
    • Fill out tickets.
    • Complete opening and closing checklists each night.
