Haunt Season is what we’re all about — it’s our main Halloween season and the heart of Fear Columbus. This is when the full haunted attraction is open, running multiple nights a week with all houses operating at full capacity. Each year, we retheme, update, and enhance the stories we tell, adding new scenes, scares, and details so even returning guests get a fresh experience. This is our biggest season, highest energy time, and when everything we do comes together.

Haunt Season Operational Hours

All dates and times are solidified here and on sithon!

Please note that as long as this message is up, the schedule is not finalized. Tentative dates are listed only to put them on your radar. We would rather take days away than spring more on you. Pay dates are also listed as tentative as they depend on the dates we’re open. This schedule will be finalized as we get closer to the season!

Spirit Saturdays

Ground Rules

1. Fun for Everyone
These days are meant to be fun and add some extra spirit to the season. Get creative, but keep things respectful and work-appropriate—avoid politics, explicit content, or anything mean-spirited.
September 12
2. Age Appropriate
In that same vein, keep in mind we have a vast range of ages on staff. No need to use these days to push the boundaries at work.
September 12
3. Don't forget a change of clothes
We’d love for everyone to participate and have fun with these spirit days! Just remember to bring your work uniform with you so you can change when needed. If you’re unsure what your uniform is, check out the FAQ page.
September 12
4. SPFX Makeup
Please keep in mind that SPFX makeup worn in may have to be removed prior to your shift...this goes for Event Staff and Performance.
September 12
5. Halloween
Performance, you'll change out of your Halloween costume and into your Haunt Costume. Event staff is free to wear their costumes during operations as long as they follow the other guidelines!

Themes

September 12: Future You
Dress like the future you! Where do you see yourself in a few or a lot of years? Don't use this opportunity to be “dead”. Too easy and also super sad. 🙁
September 12
September 19: Fancy and Formal
Dress to the damn nines! Your nicest dress, your finest suit. We’re having a high class evening here at Fear Columbus.
September 19
September 26: Dynamic Duo
Find a friend and dress up like an iconic pair. Bonus points if you use this opportunity to link up with a stranger and maybe even make a friend!
September 26
October 3: NPC Takeover
Dress up as a background character from a game, movie, or story. NPCs aren’t the main heroes—they’re the characters that help build the world, give quests, share information, or make the setting feel alive. Think villagers, shopkeepers, townsfolk, or random spooky background characters.
October 3
October 10: I thought it was ___ day!
This day is totally up to your interpretation! Dress for the Spirit Saturday you want, not the ones you got. Please keep in mind that you cannot use this day (or any Spirit Days really) as an excuse not to come in. "I thought it was skip work day" or anything like it is not allowed unless you want it to turn into "I thought it was get fired day".
October 10
October 17: Memes
Dress up as your favorite meme or video. The more niche, the better! Do this solo or grab backup to create the whole picture! Bonus points if you come ready to perform.
October 17
October 24: Spongebob/Cartoons
You know the…grill (get it, because he’s a fry cook?) Spongebob day is back because it’s never going anywhere. Dress like your favorite character from the show! Solo or with friends. If you aren’t hip to our lil yellow friend, you’ve got some time to watch the show…but feel free to dress up as any other cartoon character you like!
October 24
October 31: Halloween Costumes
Wear your Halloween costumes to work! Performance staff will need to change into their work costumes, and any SPFX makeup worn in may need to be removed. Event staff are welcome to wear their costumes throughout the night (no masks), but please go easy on SPFX makeup, as it may need to be removed before we open if it covers too much of your face.
October 31
November 7 (Tentative Date): Hobby Swap
Dress for a hobby you don't have!
